Lighthouse City Tartu unveiled its last SmartEnCity sculpture

The Tartu SmartEnCity project has become well-known for creating artworks, either on the facades of renovated apartment building or nearby. In May 2022, the 17th and last artwork of the project was erected in the city: a sculpture titled “The Planter on Turu Street”.

Final SmartEnCity Network Bulletin available NOW

The SmartEnCity project is ending in July 2022! It has been a 6.5 years journey that we have had the pleasure of sharing with the 35-partner SmartEnCity consortium from 6 different countries – managing also to reach a total of 70 SmartEnCity Network member cities! All working towards the same goal – to become Smart Zero Carbon Environments!

End of July, SmartEnCity project is coming to an end. With the final newsletter, the main outcomes are introduced and our Lighthouse and Follower Cities as well as Network are giving summaries on their achievements in the frame of SmartEnCity.

Post-renovation survey among Tartu pilot area: what do the residents think?

In early 2022, the University of Tartu along with the Tartu engagement working group organized a post-renovation survey among pilot area residents. A similar survey was carried out before the renovation in 2018. The follow-up post-renovation survey was created to understand the impact of the SmartEnCity project on the pilot area and what has changed in the five years.

Asenovgrad Municipality experience and learnings as a Follower City

After the successful implementation of SmartEnCity integrated energy planning (IEP) process, the Municipality of Asenovgrad directed its efforts towards spreading the knowledge and experience among other Bulgarian municipalities, members of the local SEC Network.

Achievements of Lighthouse City Vitoria-Gasteiz in the framework of SmartEnCity Project

"Vitoria-Gasteiz is striving towards a more resilient human scale city model that prioritises people, their health, safty and well-being. Innovative approaches, such as the SmartEnCity project, provided an ideal framework with which to confront uncertainties and difficulties in a cooperative way between the different technical partners and stakeholders", said AnaOregi, Deputy Mayor City of Vitoria-Gasteiz.
