This webinar presents the role of Energy Retrofitting of Building as a key part of cities’ energy transition, and how energy savings from retrofitting of buildings contains an important potential, that needs intelligent prioritizing to be applied in a cost efficient way in cities’ journey towards a low carbon economy as smart zero carbon cities.

Best practice actions will be presented from two of the Lighthouse Cities in the EU SmartEnCity project Tartu (Estonia) and Sonderborg (Denmark), also explaining how Energy Retrofitting actions are being prioritized as part of the overall transition of these cities, how they approach it and what their results and learnings are.

In the webinar the participant will learn:

  • About why balancing energy retrofitting of buildings can strengthen a cost effective energy transition in your city
  • About how to strategically approach energy retrofitting of buildings to unlock energy saving potentials
  • About other cities’ learnings and results from concrete energy retrofitting actions

Date:  19 April 2017

Time:   13:00 to 14:00 CEST

Webinar presenters:

David Drysdale is doing a PhD at Aalborg University in Denmark and he is focused on how cities can become low carbon.

Kalle Virkus & Martin Kikas are both working at Tartu Regional Energy Agency with regional and local Energy Retrofitting strategies and actions, and are directly involved in retrofitting actions in Tartu.

Torben Esbensen is working at Danish Energy Management - Esbensen, a consultancy specialized in Energy Retrofitting of Buildings, and is involved in the retrofitting activities activities in Sonderborg
